Front parking sensor error

Featured Replies

Hi I was wondering if anyone can help or is having similar issues, for the last 10 days every time I start the car it says please clean front parking sensor and something is in the way, so they don’t work I’ve tried cleaning them but their nothing obvious on them, also not sure if I’m being stupid but I only seem to see two front sensors I thought their would be four, the rear ones work no problem any help or advice would be appreciated

the other two are just above the fog lights

Check for stonechips. A tiny chip killed one of mine when it was only a few months old.

Try removing the front license plate and check if the error remains. It can happen that license plate is mounted too high and interferes with parking sensors.

One of mine failed recently and was replaced under warranty because there was no obvious sign of external damage (E.g. stone chip).

I had a slight chip on one of mine.  Trying to remove it so i can replace it, but can't seem to get to it.

I think sensors are clipped in from the back side.

You have to take the bumper off to get at the painted ones.

I recently replaced a rear sensor with one from here:

Their numbering guide helped me to chose the correct sensor and the paint colour match is excellent too.

I've had a similar issue and replaced the sensor but it;s made no difference.  I think I may need to reset the parking aid control unit?  Does anyone know how to do that?

Hi Mark. I need to replace one of the rear sensors on my MK4 2020 Octavia. Did you find a guide or similar explaining how to do it? Or did you just work it out. Would be interested if you have any tips.

Cheers. Steve.
