OBD Eleven or Carly ??

Featured Replies

Hi guys new here getting a mk4 VRs in 2-3 weeks

I currently own a Carly OBD from my bmw and can use it for Skoda for a fee

I have owned OBD eleven in the past with my B7 Passat but sold it a few years ago

Anyone on here use Carly ??

Sorry. Never heard of it.

I have Carly and it is locked out from a load of customisations. I am looking to buy ODB Eleven.

Recently bought the ODBeleven with a few credits.

Have just set the fake sound to 30% and the Lane assist to memory.

These are 2 of the things that have bugged me since buying the car.

A few days away in North Yorkshire coming up so will see if I like normal mode (default) for a change.

Was easy to use for what I wanted.Register an account, set a pin no.,add credits via connected android phone app etc.

I did a full backup which seemed to absolutely hammer the car battery even with a charger connected.

Also did a scan and cleared lots of errors, didn't investigate as i will check again and see if any reappear.

Not sure what else or how often I will use this as I know nothing about coding so only used the built in apps.

I just bought obd eleven for the 2020 MK4 Octavia. It says the vehicle is unsupported when its clearly in the supported list of vehicles. All I wanted was to set lane assist to memory. Have bought 100 credits as well, pretty annoyed. Cant speak for the other service but I'd say avoid obd eleven for sure

This sounds like just another case of PEBKAC. Where does it fail? Is it only the one-click apps not working? Unfortunately, a lot more information is needed to take your advice seriously. Most people have zero issues with OBDeleven.

Have you tried clearing the app cache and doing a full scan of the car afterwards?

Hello,

As posted above, it is advisable to clear the cache/data + do a clen install of the app.

Speaking from my experience, i have had the OBD eleven since 2017, used it (mostly 😀) successfullywith a B8 Passat.

After switching to the newly delivered Octavia, I couldnt manage to properly connect to the vehicle. Using a S22 ultra, I noticed 2 things:

- first of all, whith the phone initially connected to the car, I experienced a strange loop - even after disconecting/forgetting the car from the BT menu, the phone would automatically try to reconnect to the car. Any attempt to connect to the OBD failed, although pairing the phone with the OBD worked

After a few frustrating minutes, i decided to "reset" all connection by powering off/on the phone and the car.

Then I logged out of the OBD account, cleared the App data/cache on the phome, logged-in and the connection became possible. Mind you, I had asked the car to forget the device, so that there was no automated attempt to connect by the car.

Also, engine off, ignition on all the time.

Long story short - when encountering software issues like this, be patient and try to do a clean start over again.
