All Weather/All Season bulbs

Featured Replies

Has anyone tried the Philips' All Weather/Osram All Season bulbs?

Being an old git, my eyesight isn't quite as good as it used to be, and I've noticed that driving at night, in bad weather, is more stressful nowadays. It's not bad enough to affect my driving, but I feel that I could do with all the help I can get.

The Powerbulbs site suggest that all-weather bulbs offer a significant improvement in bad weather. Can anyone confirm this?

Mike,

Yes

OK, here's the proper answer :D

I have tried them and yes I found them "better" in more marginal conditions. They had a slightly different, I suppose you could say mellow, hue to them. The beam pattern appeared more "rounded" rather than the sharp cut offs of "performance" bulbs.

I usually run the all weathers in my fog lights as I find it reduces glare and bounce back.

Also I found them good in snow as you weren't permanentlt dazzling yourself or fixating on the falling flakes.

Hope that helps more than my first post :D

I changed the bulbs in a Rover 400 I used to own to Philips vision plus(best buy Autoexpress) they were a massive improvement.

Thanks, Jon and Gord.

Foglamps, eh? Of course, on the Octavia they are in the main lamp cluster, so could be regarded as "auxiliary driving lamps" - legal in all weathers (not just fog).

Hmm... Vision Plus (or the equivalent) for headlamps, and all-weather for "foglamps". Off to Powerbulbs I go.... :)

Thats the setup I'm running at the moment Mike.

I have the blue bulbs that halfords sell, work really well.

But the thing that does my eyes in at this time of year is FOG LIGHTS, headlights coming towards me are no problem. but stick those bright Red things in my eyes for mile after mile in perfectly clear visibilty and I get a sore eyes.
