Injector clamp bolt hole stripped

Featured Replies

Hi

I was putting injector bolts in and when tightening the last bolt down i’ve ended up stripping the threads in the bolt hole.

how can i go about repairing this? I have seen that helicoils is an option, ive used them in the past with success however not on something like this.

Is there anyone that could do this for me or know a mobile company that i could email? Or should i attempt it myself

cheers

A Helicoil is stronger than the original thread, it'll be just fine, get it done.

Okay, Nothing to lose i suppose. Any idea what size kit it would be? Tried looking for one but cant find any coming up

You need to measure the bolt to get the correct size.

I have repaired the thread, am just waiting on a new bolt, dont want to risk using the old bolt. Wondering if you could tell me how i should go about torquing it when the time comes? Im. Sure the manual said 12nm+270 degree turn, which ive done on the first 3. Shall i do the same for the repaired thread too or less?

If you used a Helicoil type thread insert then you can tighten it to original spec.

It needs to be the OE spec or the injector will move around (more than it does) and damage the bore

You didn’t reuse the other bolts did you?
