Cannot log in after OAA2 update

Featured Replies

So yeah, 2021 RS PHEV. Made user profiles, two of them. Noticed an update, did the update, no longer let's me log in. The profiles are there, but loading them results in "cannot load at this time" (in Finnish). I deleted the profiles and tried to create them again. Won't let me, says "can't load user profile". I have rebooted by pressing power button for about 10 seconds, didn't help. Restored factory settings, didn't help.

Any good ideas? I'm new to very digital automobiles, although I know my way around computers generally very well.

Also, am I missing features if I use the only working "guest" profile? The car and it's features seem to work as far as I can tell. I guess, these menus are VERY complicated.

The car should work fine with the Guest profile; what you'd miss is the ability to connect to the car from the app, and to store the profile settings in the cloud. Why would you want to store the profile settings in the cloud? So that if you ever log in to another Škoda it will apply any relevant settings to that vehicle. How useful that actually is I can't say! Guess if it were an identical model with saved seat and door mirror settings then yes, useful.

As to why you can't log in or create a new profile I think would be either 1. a bug in the update, or 2. a problem connecting to (or with) the Škoda servers (my car was offline for a few days over the weekend due to server issues, all back to normal today).

Does skoda announce outages anywhere so we could rule out user error?

I don’t think so. If they do, I haven’t found it yet. Frustrating…

And behold, it lives again. No explanation, nothing, I can log in now. I'd be more OK with issues if there was an explanation for them. Now it feels like being at the mercy of Skoda's whims.
