Hello,

 

As I´m thinking of installing an active subwoofer into my yet to be delivered Octy, I came upon following question:

 

Do these new infotainment systems have a "head unit" with ISO type connections for power and speaker outputs, so that I could take high level signal for the sub using an adapter cable set?

I´ve tried to Google but found nothing so far.

I have the canton system but I drove a lot of 04 loaners with standard setup. I don't think a subwoofer will make a lot of sense since the sound is not really weak BUT there's some sort of limiter kicking in very soon preventing high-ish sound levels and cutting off low frequencies. So the sound isn't linear between low/mid volume (=sounds OK) and higher sound volumes (sound becomes flattened/thin).

 

I think a combination of active sub plus amplifier would be the better solution. I read mostly positive feedback about the "ETON" products @skodacommunity.de wich are "kind of" plug & play soulutions.
