Remote key

Featured Replies

Hi all,

I just bought a 2007 Fabia and one of the remote keys only locks the car not unlock it. Also sometimes when I use the other key the boot or the other doors don't unlock only the driver door. Otherwise doesn't seem a bad little car for a little runabout far better than the Corsa I briefly had before.

If one button on the remote is not working, it could be dirt inside the contact pad. You could try and open up the key and make contact with a metal and check if the key works that way. Other wise you might have to get new circuit board.

Re. the other key sometimes not working on other doors this could be a problem with a broken wire in the door loom.

I just wondered with the key that works you have to press it more than once to unlock all doors and boot.

My Fabia 2009 you press the button once to unlock the driver's door then again to unlock the rest of the doors and the boot.

That can be changed with VCDS to open all at first press, if anyone prefers that (I do).
