50+ weeks delivery quoted for VRS at the start of May, just got the build week...

Featured Replies

Dealer emailed me today, the build week is 26, so I replied saying "Week 26, 2024 I assume?"

Nope, week 26 this year, i.e. 2 weeks away.

WTF??? I just paid for a temp car yesterday, on the assumption I'd have a year to wait...

I'm not sure whether I should be happy, or ****ed off...

Hi Vrsalan

when i ordered my car April 2023 i was told 6 months 7 tops, i got to 6 month after hearing nothing not  thing from dealer the dealer got really pi$$ed off at my phone call. told me it going to be over 7 months. i felt very upset as i feel he took the order knowing they couldn't deliver in 6 months. Now he comes back furious at me tell me its going to be next year possibly march April but he didn't know  exactly when. What he didn't know was i am in contact with the executives office for skoda uk and they told me this morning week 41 build which means i'm looking at November delivery all going well. These dealers are not your friend they have your money now and will tell you anything to keep you quite. i will never buy another skoda in my life after this customer service at the dealers is a joke. very unhappy with the service i got. i won't name the dealer but there thee biggest in UK or one of them

Totally understand your frustration.

Just a thought, but isn't it a bit harsh to judge Škoda when it's the dealer at fault? Buying from a different outlet could be a much better story, or buying a different brand from the same chain and get the same problem.

HI Stevetheelder

I'm not judging anyone my friend i simply stating these dealer are exactly honest when you ask for information on your order, 3 different stories every time you ask a question and at £45000 i think i have a right to ask some questions when "promised" 6 months deliver 7 tops thats a direct quote. Going by what i have read on this forum i certainly am not alone in thinking that. I do take your point on board but we are all paying lats of money for these cars asking questions of the dealers is no bad thing.

I wonder if the info from Skoda UK is any more reliable?  Time will tell.

Hi Breezy_Pete

Well i have my dealer telling me March 2024 next year ordered 2023 April  and when i speak to him 6 months in with no build date what so ever i can't change the colour or add a sunroof, your to late he says and that will set the car back 7 months and other people on here adding things to cars with no build date. That speak volumes to me other people have very nice dealers my dealer now tells me. i'll call when your car arrives in March 2024, yet this very morning Skoda themselves say Oct 2023 build week which makes me think Nov -Dec 2023 Delivery. Take what you will from that but i have very mixed feelings about the dealers.

All of my Superbs at the time of ordering were on extended deliveries, the longest one was the L&K, but they all came from different dealers and I have to say, that they provided very good updates and service. My last one, the L&K was actually delivered 2 weeks earlier than the estimated date, but the lead time was almost 6 months. I think you just got unlucky with your dealer.

as a new member, there is a very short time limit on how long you have after posting when you can edit a post.. like a few minutes...

The original dealer I spoke to, and got pretty far along the process with, made no mention of the delivery times. But to be fair, the other two I talked to offered the information about delivery dates immediately and without me asking, so I think it varies a lot from dealer to dealer. The dealer I eventually went with were great, they showed me the official Skoda build schedule for the car when the order was placed and I got regular email updates from them, even if they were "no change". And they were as surprised as I was when it only took 3 months to arrive.
