Mk3 1.8 tsi ac issue

Featured Replies

Hi guys,

facing a weird AC issue where the AC in my 1.8 tsi isn’t cooling at all.

could it be an indication of a failing water pump?

Or just an issue with the Air Conditioning System.

How old is the car, how many miles / km has it done and has the AC ever been serviced?

Do you keep the AC on all the time and not just when you want cooling?

PS

I see you are in India & have had other Wiring Issues, so this might be just another.

It would be handy if you pot under your name which country you are in for when members read your posts.

PPS.

I see it is a 2013 car.  So a Recharge of the AC is quite possibly order of the day, but a AC place can diagnose.

Hopefully not a water pump unless that is another problem, is there a loss of coolant?

Hi. Thanks for the quick revert. Yes it is the same car. It has run about 30k kms. Car is now on its 10th year. The coolant level had reduced a little.
Had gotten the ac gas refilled 2 years back. Hoping that an AC service will solve the issue.

The aircon didn’t blow cool air at all when it was on. Just blower

You confuse things.

You said no Cool Air,  you did not say no blower.  So does the blower work?

Coolant can drop a little and need topped up.

Not to MAX but maybe between MIN & MAX.  If you fill to MAX it might set it's own Level.

?

So does the Fan Speeds work and blow air, but just  not cooled air coming from the air intake & air from outside the car is not cooled?

How many degrees C are we talking where you are when no AC cooling?

1. The blower is working but is blowing out warm air even when the temp is set at low.

Looks like both are separate issues.
