Helpful advice please!!!!!!

Featured Replies

I have been asked to advise my 80 year old sister regarding changing her car!  Her Mazda 3 (2015) is rather bulky and a tight fit in her garage.

As  Skoda Superb owner I have looked at the Fabia or the Citigo as possible options. Cash is tight and I would looking to cash in the Mazda (quoted at £6300) with minimal addition.

I sense that there was a Fabia model change around 2014 but have spotted a low mileage Fabia SE Euro 2  for sale for around £6500.

Low mileage Citigos are similarly priced from my searches to date.

Question is are there any real bad options here, how basic are the Citigo models?

What are the good and bad points regarding engine options? I am a traditionalist I guess but are the three cylinder versions OK?

There was a model change later on 2014 when Mk3 Fabia were introduced and started arriving at Dealership.

Mk2 Euro 5 emissions, Mk3 are Euro 6.

Citigo is a 1.0 MPI, no turbo.

As is a 1.2 MPI Fabia, or a 1.0 MPI.

& a 1.2 TSI has a turbo.

What is it you have seen ,

is it a 1.2 TSI or a 1.0 MPI which could be a Mk3?

As my wife owns a 2015 (Fabia) VWSkoda for your sister I'd be looking at older smaller cars, preferably from Toyota or Honda.  Whether a Citygo is suitable for your sister over a Fabia depends on her expectations in a car.

which ever you buy, make sure it has 4 cylinders !!
