Add Blue

Featured Replies

I still have not picked up the car and its not about Add Blue as such bit is there some form of gauge on the dash to

show the level ? or does it just  tell you when to top up ?

Thanks in advance

There will be a screen you can go to that will tell you the range left for the Adblue.

Like one you can go to telling you how many days or miles to a service, or how many miles done, or fuel average etc.

?

Have you had a look at online Owners Manuals for the car you are getting?

I have had a look on the online manual but does not show any thing about the Ad Blue quantity

  • Approx 12 ltr tank
  • Warning will show at 2400km to go
  • The dash should tell you how many litres to add (min and max)
  • If you reach 0km and the engine will not start, add a minimum of 5 ltrs, and it can take 2-3 mins to register
  • Never overfill the tank, better to add 10 ltrs to a 12 ltr tank if "empty" range

Additional Information

AFAIK there isn't a level sensor on the AdBlue tank, so the min/max topup values are estimates so don't take them too literally.

The reason I was asking was the dealer said he would top up the Ad blue and I just wanted to see if it was

full (and not taking his word for it)

So what is the approx range of ad blue?

IMHO your dealer is just bragging... The Factory fills up the Ad Blue tank AFAIK, as they do with the screen washer liquid for instance. The dealer's job is to verify all fluid levels (except fuel) during the delivery preparation process.

One might compute it from the attached picture. Just to let you know - mine is driven ~90% outside the city, that might increase the range comparing to an urban-driven car...

You need to play with the Settings for items to be displayed on left-right side of the VC, AdBlue level is there - you just need to Enable it, and then scroll until it's displayed.
