Just got my vRS!!

Featured Replies

After waiting and mithering the wife for 18 months I finally got hold of a Black Magic '03 vRS last weekend. What a fantastic piece of kit - the interior is perfect and the exterior only has a few minor scratches, not bad for a three year old motor.

It just feels so solid and smooth (oo er!), loads of torque etc etc, I could go on all day......

Oh and the missus got a nice bunch of flowers from Mitchell Skoda in Chester so it's thumbs up to them!

However, when I put the ignition key in I get 6 or 7 loud bongs from the warning panel. Is this normal? I've looked in the manual and all that tells me is that it will bong if a warning light comes on. Is it doing it becuase all the lights come on when you insert the ignition key? Even if I start the car straight away and the warning lights go out, the noise keeps on going.

Right, that's enough typing I'm off to clean the beast - done about 400 miles in 5 days...........

:):D:):D

Sounds a bit ilke the seatbelt warning - are you belting up? If its not that, do any of the warning lights stay on once they've gone through the test?

PS - Know how you're feeling as I've only had my Octy vrs for a week - loveing it to bits. Same colour as yours but an Estate......

Ah! I always start the car and then stick my belt on, I'll try it the other way round. All the lights go out after the self test.......

Cheers for the swift reply!

They are good! But can be better! Its Modding time:cool:

Thought so - I always used to do it that way round aswell - but am now changing my habits. Weird that all the lights go out though, as the red seatbelt light should stay on if its doing its bonging.

Agree with AntvRS - mine had been seen to by Jabba before I got it - never driven a std one but it's awesome......

Yep, seatbelt warning it was!

if you search the forums, there's ways to stop the bong,

look under the drivers seat and you'll see the cable assembly,

check the forums first to find out which way to do it, but needless to say I've no more bonging...
