No bend lighting problem

Featured Replies

Hi, recently had an error message and loss of the no bend lighting function  ( the wee lightshow dance on start up).

Can anyone point to (better still provide a photo of) where the earths for the sensors are, and in fact where the sensors are located? I downloaded the service manual but it only shows the engine functions, as far as I can see. Thanks in advance

I kept getting this message from time to time, but when checking lights all was ok.

The bulb eventually blew and since it got a new one fitted I never got the warning again.

It was the actual the Driving Lamp bulb that lights up when turning and not the main headlamps that do the dance at start up

Hope that helps

Thanks for replying,  but no afraid that's not the problem. The warning came and then the lights went into a get home mode, pointing right down, not really drivable. I had just got to work, and was able to manually adjust them up to an acceptable level. But really would like them fixed

Level sensor on passenger side back wish bone

Also one on front passenger side wish bone.

unsure what the one on front does but the one at rear is for adjusting light heights which sounds it could be the cause

Appreciate your help bud, but defo not the level sensor. Rear one got knocked out a few years back after having some suspension work done, never got the no bend lighting message up, and didn't affect the level with such severity ( if i recall, lights stayed up a tad too high?) I'm hoping it's a bad earth, but finding where the damn earth is  is a nightmare.

Think I remember seeing something for water getting into the control unit plug along time ago with similar results.

Got a reg or VIN (PM) will look up on  Alldata.

Best bet is to get the car scanned as that should pinpoint the issue.

That said, I had the same issue on my MK3 recently and it turned out to be the NSF sensor. Replaced it and all was well again.

I've had the car scanned bud, but it was fairly inconclusive. It did say something about a possible sensor or possible bad earth, so was really wanting to know if anyone could point me in the direction of the sensor position, or where the earths are

Reg is OV60RYW.  What's Alldata?

The picture above shows the position of the sensor(s), take off a front wheel and you'll see it attached to the front suspension. I'll guarantee that one of yours has gone kaput.

Hi petrolcan (or is that Jerry 🤔), there's more sensors involved in the no bend dance than the level sensors. I've had one of them disabled before and it didn't affect the car at all, didn't even register as a fault actually. I believe (from previous posts on this subject) that's there's around 3 different possible culprits, just would love to find their location...

Well, I tried 😕
