Part missing from windscreen washer bottle, need help

Featured Replies

Hello, a couple of days ago i filled up the windscreen washer tank, and yestarday to my surprised the sensor indicated that it was empty. I decided to have a look at it myself and realised that i’m missing a piece but i really can’t identify what it is nor where it’s gone, i’ve attacked a picture of the hole where the part should go and a picture of what kind of part should be there. As the price of a new bottle seems quite high, and not needing a whole new bottle, i’d like some advice on what do you guys think it is and where can i find it. If any additional info is needed, please let me know.

car is a skoda superb mk3 2016 1.6tdi 118hp hatchback

That pic you’ve taken is the bottom of the tank, correct?

Thats where the pump fits...   Is the pump there just hanging loose having come disconnected?

The pump works, the water sprays

What about any headlight washers?

Well, I’m guessing the clue that something is missing, is the huge hole in the tank where the upper pump should be?

Well yes, that is the clue, what pump are you referring to? The spray works so the pump should be in place, i just can’t figure what it is

Level sensor?

Actually scratch that...   You mentioned the level sensor was working.

OK. So if you keep the washers on, does it run out quickly and if you pour water into the tank right upto the brim, does water run out under the car?
If not then I’m at a loss how it’s keeping fluid in the reservoir with a dirty-great hole in it.
