Octavia mk4 1.5 tsi manual transmision

Featured Replies

Hello,

I've been having promblems with my skoda octavia 2021 1.5 tsi. On the car under warranty until today it has been changed the transmision and the stearing column. Now i am having problems again with the transmision or the clutch. It makes a noise while idling in neutral and the clutch not pressed in and when i press the clutch in the noise goes away. The noise is not persistant and it comes ocaisonaly only when the car is warmed up. I am attaching also a video from the sound if someone will know what it is.

Has the clutch release bearing been changed?

Why I asked about the release bearing...

Same as mine Kodiaq 1.5 TSI manual. 1,5 years, 9k km. Mechanic from a non VW related service confirmed gearbox needs to be changed. And he said they'll most likely just change the bearing instead of installing new gearbox to buy time.

They changed the gearbox in my car for the second time under warranty first time at around 18k km and second 28k km.

Its the ****tiest gearbox I have ever driven in my life. Rought 1st and 2nd, clutch seems to disengage somewhere at my knee and combined with the too early start/stop and turbo hole makes for a highly unpleasant experience. Indeed, I have close to 20k on the car and still cannot get used to driving it properly. Our company car is a Mazda 6 which I start driving perfectly in about 10 min.

Moreover, on mine the shift lever has developed some wobbling, possibly an issue with one of the shifting arms below it.
