Octavia iv real elec range

I have noticed when the charge is at zero miles it will show it's charging the battery sometimes while my foot is on the accelerator pedal on flat or even slightly uphill roads. It must be putting resistance into the regenerative braking which means more petrol is being used than normal.

Most hybrids will do that. My previous Kia was pretty aggressive with it when battery got low.

Yep, cold affects diesels too. My mpg used to drop in my old car in cold weather.

Possible the SW update reset historical consumption data and its dropped down average to 24miles. Should improve again the more you drive on elec.

But mine is showing around that at moment anyway due to a week on holiday of no charging in cold and rain

@mccririck diesels or even petrols drop in efficiency is to do with cold start and warm up time.  Lights, heaters, screen, rear screen, mirrors etc and demand on charging system but if you drive far enough and do not required additional time and short trips turbo engines can benefit from cooler air, less grip / traction of roads ect.       With a PHEV you still have the issue if an ICE plus the poor performance of batteries in the cold.   But there is the advantage of you are plugged in of Pre warming the car.  Holding the charge the battery has and starting the car and getting straight away.  Then firing up the engine or not.   Swings and roundabouts...

With my estate iV now at 1000mls of driving over three weeks since delivery.. Running AC as a constant, driving in full electric largly on motorway it is returning 32/35 driving miles range before being depleted.

Pretty much as I had hoped for tbh, if it marginally increases on that in warmer times then great, if it does not I wont loose any sleep!

Am maninly charging during the day from the 3-pin charging cable as the wall mount 7kW charger we have typically has a Polestar or a Tesla plugged into it!!  No idea how long it takes to charge from flat but its fully chargered by the time I leave for home each day.  The commute home is full electric and then I have something like 2 to 5 miles of electric range remainig the next moring, but always in full hybrid mode with depleted battery by the time I plug back in at work the next morining.

In sport it regenerates quite well I have found, in under 30 miles I can eaasily see the depleted battery rise to around 8% charge status, though of course you use a little more petrol driving that way.
