Current Factory Delivery Times

Featured Replies

Does anyone know the current Superb factory delivery times?

A colleague ordered a Sportline 280 which arrived a month ago after approx 12 weeks (contract to dealer).

When I ordered a month ago they told me it would likely to be Jan 24 which I assume was just the standard "6 months" reply like my Octavia.

I was hoping for Sept/Oct.... 🤞

I'm in the UK and I've just ordered a new L&K and dealer estimated 20 weeks to delivery. Went on to say that in their experience delivery times are falling so every chance it'll arrive earlier than predicted but no guarantee of course.

Thanks, I saw your other post about your new order & 20 week delivery time.

When I ordered my superb, the guy brought out the usual printout (dated april 23) showing 6 month delays for 4x4 transmissions so the only commitment date he would write on the contract was Jan 2024.

My colleague ordered pretty much the same car as mine in april (but petrol instead of diesel) & they told him 6months lead time because of the 360 camera modules.

I dropped into the dealer last week to ask about wheel prices & after a month there was still no VIN or preliminary build date from the dealer bit I'm still hopeful for a delivery around October...

I contacted my dealer at the weekend to see if there was any news.

So far after 8 weeks there's no sign of a VIN number or preliminary build date...

He said he has no further information from Skoda on delivery times since I ordered.

He is saying 4x4 DSG system is causing the delay of 20-24 weeks... Eeek

I don't think dealers have much more info than us and will do/say pretty much anything to secure a sale! I'm not holding my breath, indeed, the deal I got seemed too good to be true at the time so I said I'd believe it was real when I actually got the keys to my car. Thankfully I'm in no rush so content to wait.

What spec did you order?

Did your dealer tell you "what" was causing the delay?

My colleague ordered a 280 Sportline around April 2023 & received his car in July this year.

He was told >6 months because of the 360 camera but arrived in his hand in around 3.

In my case, the dealer says it's the 4x4 system causing the holdup.

But as Paul says, they'll just pull any old paper or of a drawer to feed you the information they want.

Hi Gabbo

its not Skoda i really have a problem with. its the dealers,

Well the car I ordered hasn't got the 360 system, nor is it 4x4 so theoretically shouldn't be a long delay! I'm joking of course but not going to bother chasing the dealer as I really don't think they have a clue. Delivery times remain a problem, relative was told her vw would be delivered this month but still no sign of a build date let alone the car itself.

Out of interest what is the usual interval between the build date and completion - ie how long does it actually take to build? I would presume just a few days on a production line, but I don’t actually know.

Bodies are usually prepared/painted separately but a typical car will be built, tested & parked for shipping in a day. (Assuming there were no build issues).

The logistics to delivery it across Europe to the destination country & then distribute it around that country is the significant time once built.

Any news your end @Paulinkeighley ?
No news from the factory was what I was told again this week...

Orders for mk3 Superb closed few weeks ago, ahead of change to mk4

Presumably the factory know how many unbuilt orders there are, and apart from anything else would need the info for when they can shut the production line line and change to other models.

You would think they therefore know how many mk3 parts are still needed, when they will arrive, and when they will be producing the remaining cars

Interesting to know.

I'll go back to the dealer with this info in hand.

I was waiting for the mk4 to be officially unveiled before asking the same question.

I haven't been on the Swiss configurator since ordering but I'll go and check it now.

Actually on the Swiss website you can still order a superb...

Not heard a thing. I'm 10 weeks into my wait which was estimated at 20 weeks when I placed the order.

I've been told my build week is week 47, this for a 280tsi L&K ordered mid-August. This will presumably mean I get the new car very early in the new year, not ideal for Scottish weather but never mind, perhaps it will be a mild winter again!

  • Author

This is also the reason I was hoping for an earlier delivery so I could enjoy the end of the autumn with the car before needing to change the tyres to winters.

If it arrives after November, I'll be changing the winter wheels as soon as I get it home 😞

Reached out to my dealer and he's come back to me this morning to advise that my car has been assigned a predicted week 46 build date.

I'll get back onto mine as things seem to be moving again..!

You know that feeling you get when you sense something isn't quite right....

After hearing that I had a provisional build week for my car I went back to the dealer asking him to confirm exactly what had been ordered, whilst I have lots of paperwork from when I signed up there was nothing that went into detail. Anyway to my alarm it turns out 2 things have gone wrong. Their order form is correct but somehow when entering the order on the skoda system they omitted to specify black headlining. Secondly the sales person, who's since left the dealership, stated that there's no need to select the cost free rear window wiper as this is fitted by the dealer so that was missed off. The dealer told me yesterday this isn't correct. So the dealer is getting onto skoda to try and amend the order, given they're relatively minor and I've only got a provisional build week I'm thinking it shouldn't be a problem but we'll see. So a word to the wise, leave absolutely nothing to chance!

Fingers crossed it doesn't impact your build date.

I called again yesterday & still nothing on my side... 🥲

I'm not particularly concerned about the build date, I'm in no rush to get my new car. My biggest concern is that for some reason Skoda are unable to change my order even though I would have thought fitting a different colour headliner and sticking a rear window wiper on can't be that much of a headache, it's not like I want a different trim level or engine.

If I'm stuck with the car as currently ordered then I have a hard decision to make, I'm concerned that its going to be a constant niggle that I didn't get what I asked for, especially when I can't see out the rear window!
