Heating either cold or hot no gradual change

Featured Replies

Hi. In my car it is blowing cool (not AC cold) until 25 degrees and then hot hot on 25 degrees and above.

Has anyone come across similar before? Would you suggest what type of mechanic I should take the car to? TIA!

Sounds like it is a temperature sensor problem. I assume yours is a Climatronic model.

@pikpilot Thank you for your answer. Do you mean coolant temperature sensor?

No.

Climatronic systems work by mixing hot air with ambient air or cold air from the air-con. There are several sensors for the  different locations, such as outside air, left side air vent out, right side air vent, footwell air temp and others. There is one for general cabin air temp which can be seen as a small raised "button" in the centre of the control panel.

You need to have the diagnostics done by someone who has VCDS or similar software. Or use a competent garage, air conditioning specialist or perhaps an auto electrician.
