Hello @Lukas_2611 ,
Congrats for this upgrade.
Can you share the LED type that you used? Maybe a link with the new LED model it will be very helpful.
Cheers

Yes, i soldered this 3528 PLCC2 LED with a 510 Ohm Resistor on the Platine.

The pic is from my "tester" so it is not soldered very nice... cause i have tried some different versions and didnt want to clean the platine everytime ;-)

The result is great, since you are satisfied with the intensity of the lighting, then you did an excellent job.

Thank you, Giannis! Now i am thinking about how to make the OEM Ambilight escpecially at the dashboard brighter..

but i dont know yet how to do it.. since the LED is a RGB it is more dfficult than single color.. I guess changing the LED on the PCB will not do it..

Do you have an idea?

I love it. It has 2 zones, one for the dashboard and the second for the footwell lights (if you want to fit them)

Hi!

Bought the lighting from the link you gave on Aliexpress and made the retrofit.

For some reason the left smaller part looks great with the LED, but on the right bigger side i can barely see the LED (except where the console buttons are because of the silver shiny part).

Tried also putting the led strip on the outer side but because of the angle it’s also not visible.

Any insights you can give me? Guess you don’t have a picture of how you made it there since it’s already assembled in your car.

Thanks!!

Show us how you installed the stripe on the big trim.. maybe you have a pic?

For the left smaller part, I installed as easy as it gets. Put double sided 3M along the edge and took the LED and pressed against it, so the angle is the same as the edge (like Giannis20 posted) and it looks great with soft light!!

Did the same on the right part but barely visible and almost not soft light effect.

Now I tried to put extra double sided tape so when I press the LED strip against it, it will have an angle towards the outside when assembled.

But still no luck... now I see the LED strip itself rather than a glow effect.

Well, I managed to install it properly.

It seems basic, but I made sure that only the lighting area of the strip stands out from plastic.

Removed all the angles I tried to do and just taped it regularly and now everything looks great.

Note that I used the black edition of the led strips rather than the transparent like the original post.
