The Holyrood parliament voted for the legislation.   That was MSP's across the parties, that did not mean all supported it.

Yes, it wasn't just the SNP supporting this bill, it would be nice to see who voted how, though.

It's a shame the UK government didn't let them get on with it.

It would have been good to try out such legislation in Scotland if it has the support of the majority of Scottish people.

@EnterNamedo you keep abreast of politics and do you know that today is the 2nd day in court with the Scottish Government challenging the Westminster / UK Government on them blocking the legislation?

http://bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-66852911

Do you want to know how each MSP voted?

That is available, which is how you can see the names and the way they voted that you just linked.

So.

Back to what is happening currently.   Regardless of the Majority or Minority support of the general public in Scotland. Their represented voted for what they voted for.

Many might not want more spent on lawyers on yet another load of crap brought about by Westminster and a Government not voted for by the majority of Scottish Voters.

Ooh!

Well, fingers crossed the challenge is successful.

I'd love to know how each MSP voted, do you have a link please, @toot?

@EnterNamei could find it if i was bothered to,  does it make the slightest difference to you do you know the faces that match the names or the back story?

I watch Scottish Politics as it happens and Westminster Politics and don't go looking at stuff that is neither here nor there regarding the no hopers that are elected.

Use Google  , a few key words.  Unlike Westminster it is all open for the public to see.

I did search (though not with Google) and unfortunately the search engine did not return what I was after.

Thanks for the screen grabs!

Cross party support from the left side of the political spectrum, not much support from those on the right, but technically the result it satisfies the claim "cross-party support", if not the spirit.

IMO People just need to live and let live and there are to many that want to dictate what others should be able to do yet it makes no difference to their day to day life.

That sounds lovely, but sadly all that goes out of the window when it comes to certain hot topics that people have a bee in their bonnet about.

Yes homophobic & religious types quite often.    Those that really should be more empathetic and understanding mostly.

Amazingly in the UK there are those that were welcomed to the UK or come from a background of oppressed people or from a heritage that was can be among the worst.

There are some really horrible groups in the UK and how they want to treat others is atrocious.

Politicians & Religious leaders can be among the very worst in the UK.

Very true. Some real blue snouters.  But then we have plenty of those from the SNP, but just the one Scottish Labour MP.

Alister Jack MP as the Secretary of State for Scotland but he is off at the next election and maybe Andrew Bowie MP as well, then the Leader of the Scottish Conservatives Douglas Ross MP / MSP might just be down to 2 or 3 jobs in Scotland and nothing at Westminster.

Scotland's an independent country tied to Westminster.

It's not a Petri dish to test policies before rolling them out nationwide.

Scottish independence, good.

Scotland being allowed to pass bills that just concern Scotland without getting them blocked by Westminster, bad.

Some people might have a little cognitive dissonance posting these two statements in close proximity.

Depends on the religion.

Christians in the West have for decades seen their religion ridiculed into obscurity, and now has now been gutted and is being worn as a skin-suit by progressives playing cleric and pushing their political agenda.

Ironically, "tolerance" is what has destroyed Christianity in the West, IMO. Luckily for Christianity, they have a fair number of Christians outside of the West who are more resistant to "progressive" ideas.

On the other hand, Muslims have been very sensible in having only limited tolerance to anything that goes against their religious beliefs and pushing back hard when people have tried to force them into falling in line with "progressive" ideals. Which is why a hijab ban in the UK would fail.

If it were attempted, I think it would actually result in an increase in the number of Muslim women wearing it.

I think we'd then see woke cope dusting off the narrative about how "empowering" hijab wearing is for women, and why a ban on the hijab is an attack on all women.

Muslims are outstanding at playing the left at their own game. Call them a transphobe and they'll call just you an Islamophobe. 😄

Coining the term "Islamophobia" was a stroke of genius, and it's to the Christian's shame they haven't managed to come up with an equivalent, though Western media would have probably managed to kill any attempt at something similar.

TL:DR for the lightweights. I disagree. Religions should be less tolerant and empathetic, not more.
