Wheel alignment issues?

Moggo

Recommended Posts

I had my wheels aligned today using the Hunter system. 1.2tsi Skoda Yeti 2016.

Had adjustments done but still have red values after adjustment. Anyone with knowledge of alignment understand this?

I will query it with specialist but closed until Monday now. They didn’t indicate a problem.

Ive attached the report. Any advice would be great.

Thank you.

Top half is showing the before figures.

Bottom half is showing the after figures.

The two in red are for O-S-F Camber and O-S-F Caster.

Both are not adjustable but if you look at the correct settings and what you have they are:-

The correct settings are the small figures at each end of the ( Red ) parts.

In a perfect world the car wants to have setting somewhere in between these figures.

Front Camber is out by 0 Degrees and 1 Minute.

1 Minute is 1/60th of a degree.  This is not worth worrying about.

1 degree is 1/360th of a circle.

Front Caster is out by 0 Degrees and 6 Minutes.

6 Minutes is 1/10th of a degree.  This is not worth worrying about.

1 degree is 1/360th of a circle.

Find a child with a green felt tip pen and ask them to change the two in red bits to green.

Job Done.

Thanks. AG Falco

The right front camber is outside of the permitted tolerance by a knats ****, the caster looks to be within the limits so IMO should not be in red.

The front cambers could be equalised bringing the RH one within limits by moving the cross member towards the left a tiny amount but you are just as likely to screw up the thrust angle in doing so making the car crab unless you are very carefull, I did mine successfully but it was way out and I only used laser spirit levels, I would not trust any garage with all the gear to have the idea , the will or the patience to get it right, and to me getting it right means equal both sides with zero thrust angle, not just having green instead of red, it appears they dont even realise their machine is telling them porkies.

I bet your vehicle has had the crossmember lowered or removed for a clutch job, that is how mine became screwed up even though I had marked all the positions with spray paint before removal.

Just had our alignment done after new front shocks and a year of banging and crashing over 'off-road' new housing estate roads.

I knew the Yeti was robust, but it was only a bit out of tolerances, like above.

Was it still slightly out after like mine?

No it was back in range, but we had new shocks, springs, top mount bearings and drop links replaced at the same time. It needed new shocks, so it made sense for me to do everything all at once as it's lasted 98,000m on them, and I doubt we'll have it until 196,000m. You never know, though !

?? I don't understand - or am I missing something?

6.38 doesn't fall between 6.44 and 7.44

No it's me that was missing many brain cells lots of sleep or any rest when I posted.
