Car Park Fires, Transporters / Ships, any fires, any EV,s involved or not thread, were they the cause just there and so made fighting the fire harder.

Fine, you continue in your bubble and believe what you like, as for me, well I know the truth, I saw it and I cannot magically produce something that has been taken down, just as BJ's Russia report, and when it did come out it was so heavily redacted it could have been about anything other than the truth 😒

I saw it, others saw it, we commented that it was false news at the time.

We said to you your post was from the news report that was inaccurate. Nobody is saying you lied.

Just now there is an actual happening rather than just a report on what was to happen, or might.

Apart from the Guido Fawkes website, here's another source, but its source goes back to Guido Fawkes.

https://highways-news.com/westminster-mps-lose-ev-charging-points/

from this google search:

https://www.google.com/search?q=evs+banned+at+westminster+underground+car+park

But no other reporting, is there any other report with different source?

Not banned, as some still claiming. Only a small number of EV charging points are due to be removed. One can still park their EV in the underground car park.

Edit:

May be the banned idea came from some numpty on social media misunderstanding wording of this published debate? Misunderstanding talking about EV charge points and side note about cars banned from underground car park:

More on that EV fire.

While this report is not about EV's but serves to highlight dangers of batteries and those in the UK will be well aware of the sleeved pins on a normal 13A plug top. The original plug tops never had sleeved pins, they used to be solid brass and some bright kids at school quickly discovered that a 1p coin would fit perfectly between all 3 pins and make good contact between them, so they stick a 1p there, insert the plug back into the socket and await the unsuspecting teacher switching on the socket and bang, trip the main circuit breaker and the school would close while the electrics were investigated.

It seems that they have discovered similar issues with Chromebooks (I see no reason why this does affect all devices with USB sockets) This video explains the problems and huge risks being taken by these kids.

The Manufacturers of the G-Wiz should stop manufacturing them immediately. Or 13 years ago.

Keep the man in Australia happy. Well angry...

.

Not enough full adverts for Safety Recalls of any cars.

The RECALL Announcement on the telly or magazines / press should be as long as the Adverts for selling them and paid for by the manufacturers.

Also this video came out today, although there is nothing concrete known about the car at the centre of it, at the moment.

Speculation is always an issue.

Those on the other side of a world or even locally speculating and vlogging quite common.

Other makes of EV are also available, thats also a speculation problem is it not that many people think that EV must mean Tesla. A bit like all vacuum cleaners suddenly became known as Hoovers?

One think is almost a given and that is as time passes anywhere there are cars park be it underground, overgound, indoors out there are going to be some electrified among them be that BEV, Hybrid or MHEV.

As it is where there is parking there can be charger points next to where or near to where there is parking for ICE vehicles.

Bans / exclusions might well happen someplaces and there might well be drivers not even aware of what drivetrain the vehicles have.

Plenty going on into the future to keep the various Vloggers / Bloggers making us aware of when things go t!ts up.

And also of course as time goes on, the amount of electrified in some way or other cars will increase, and the ICE cars will be in smaller numbers and unless they can find ways to both reduce the volatility of these high voltage batteries and also a superb and highly efficient way of quickly bringing any such fires under control, the level devastation is going to continue rising. Often it is only these Vloggers / Bloggers who are not completely as yet under control, who bring these types of event to our attention as the MSM seen to be gagged, especially in China.

We really are into Tin Foil hat territory now.

Is that the MAINSTREAM MEDIA? Are they gagged in the Western World.

Who by is it that President of the USA, or his Best Buddy, Elon, or his ex buddy, Sir Rupert Murdoch?

There will be a new Chinese owned EV Battery factory come near to some in Europe very soon.

Onward and upwards, maybe up in flames.

"unless they can find ways to both reduce the volatility of these" liquid fuel. ;)

Haha

Is it the job of mean stream media to report on every single vehicle fire?

If so, why aren't we seeing every single ICE car fires reported?

As electrified vehicle become more and more normal, I would not expect every single fire event to be reported. It will end up similar to ICE vehicle fire reporting, only major incidents are reported. Is it "gagged", or just common sense?

Some call it tin foil hatter, I prefer to call it looking before leaping.

@Graham Butcher There seems to be more complaining or commenting on some MSM anti EV articles.

I do see some saying there is censorship on articles or published coverage of EV fires.

Oddly by people that found stories and when i look to see if the media covered it there was plenty.

MSM, Social, Interweb, Facebook, Tiktok or whatever.

Obviously something is going on and that seems to include even Communist States not being able to suppress stuff.

?

What are you looking at, not an EV is it?

Not looking at anything in particular, just a figure of speech. Maybe it is an engineer thing, I don't know but as an electrical engineer, who knows? But as an electrical engineer we were always taught to double-check everything personally as electricity doesn't normally give you a second chance, so if someone tells you that the power is off etc, you should always verify it for yourself before proceeding. One occasion I failed to do that, and my apprentice told me that he had personally pulled the fuse I cut the cable only to see a blinding flash and my wire cutters were gone, jolly glad I had a decent pair with thick insulation on the handles.

He had pulled the wrong fuse and ever since then I have always double-checked everything whenever possible and that includes Bloggers / Vloggers and also the main stream media as well to see if I can get some sort of verification.

Risk mitigation:

  • 2 weeks later...

Some people have advocated the use of fire suppression blankets when dealing with an EV fire, I was not so sure that the many online videos actually showed the battery as being in thermal runaway. It now seems that I may have been right and the blankets could well be better used to cover adjacent vehicles to prevent them being involved in the fire. These blankets used on EV's in thermal runaway actually increases the risks to firefighters apparently, as new test show. New guidance is being issued on their use.

Barrie Crampton is reporting yet another major fire onboard a ship carrying EV's from China to Mexico, it is claimed that the ship is also carrying some ICE vehicles and he is being sensible in his report and is saying before anyone claims it was an EV that caused the fire, and is saying that we should be calm and await further information about it.

More info on this ship fire.

Another large fire, not on a ship or a multistorey car park, but a bus depot. Buses had been parked for weeks and somehow caught fire, cause is currently unknown. He make mention of how they were parked that made matters worse, and having been worked on a large bus fleet, that is exactly normal practise for parking every night, and buses that are not actually in use are also parked like that because of the sheer amount of real estate required to give them separation.

One thing he is right about though, is that diesel vehicles do not just burst into flames once they have cooled down, within minutes of switching off they are pretty cool, and certainly not hot enough to burst into fire. Its another one that we will have to wait to learn the actual cause of the fire.
