Water in the front Near Side Head light

Featured Replies

Hi All,

It's that time of year again – rainy season – when I notice water in the front nearside headlight. My usual solution is to remove the light, take off the covers at the back, and leave it on a heat pad to evaporate the moisture.

However, I'm wondering if there's a common entry point for water that I'm missing. I can't see any cracks in the headlight. Does anyone have any insights or similar experiences?

  1. Boot not sealing round bulb properly.
  2. Crack in seal between reflector and front glass.
  3. (1) and (2).

There are plenty of good used headlamp units on fleabay, prices from around 30 squid upwards.

Is it worth trying to track and fix your mystery leak?
