lambda sensor

Featured Replies

Hi,

Was wondering what a sensible price should be to replace this, and if it could be done myself (although that would mean buying kit to reset the orange light)?

Thanks,

Which lambda sensor, there's likely to be two?

Not an easy DIY usually.

Price will vary a lot depending on location, and quality/source of part used.

I do a lot of DIY but if this job needed doing on my car I'd put it into a garage. Firstly you need the correct Lamda probe spanner (with a split down the side, for the wire) then it is likely to be extremely inaccessible, and finally it is likely to be very tight / corroded/baked in place as it screws into the exhaust where it is very hot.

Thanks both, much appreciated.  Off to a garage.....

You just need a spanner and thats all. At least for 2.0 tsi. Not hard to do. It is cheaoer to buy spanner that to oay for service for max half hour job.

Yes, 2.0 TSI.  P22700 LAMBDA SENSOR (Bank1, Sensor 2), but I'd also need to buy kit to reset the orange light - is that expensive?

It is downstream sensor, could be even easier to replace, i can not remember, but I think you need to do it from under the car.

I also guess error will be removed after few km of driving.
