Just wondering...

When can I expect my service light to pop up? I've just gone through 30,000 miles, and was kind of hoping that I might get somewhere close to the 38,000 I got out of my previous VAG cars for the 2nd service.

They were both 130TDi's (a Passat and a Golf), but the Octy's a vRS. Can I expect the same sort of interval? Same sort of driving type across all 3 - the odd good thrashing but mainly just trolling on the motorway at 75.

Here's hoping it's not completely a "how long's a piece of string" question. Also hoping it doesn't need doing for a little while - I've got a wedding to pay for!

It depends on what kind of servicing the car is on, IIRC there is the 10K or 1 year and the 20K 2 year service, if you check your service book it should say somewhere.

I may be wrong though!

When was the last service - mileage and date? I assume that your car is on variable service intervals and that your are using LongLife oil.

when i enquired on the service intervals on the vrs i was told that it had to be every year or 10k whichever came sooner.i was told that there was no variable servicing on this model.

Yes there is variable servicing.

If it hasnt had its second service and its on fixed at 30k you have missed a service.

If you are on variable it should come up sometime soon.
