Steering Wheel Buttons

Featured Replies

So I collected my new Kodiaq 2.0 7 seat diesel SE Drive DSG.

on collection it had paddles on the steering wheel (didn’t order and aren’t standard).

I don’t have adaptive cruise control (not ordered) but on the wheel I have a button for lane change assist. According to the manual it only works with ACC so why is it on the wheel as it doesn’t do anything and isn’t connected!

Given that production is coming to an end on the MkI they’re probably running out of steering wheels, so you’ve had a free upgrade?

That would be nice if the actual buttons worked!

But the gear change paddles work right?

I had a 2011 Skoda Superb with a telephony button on the steering wheel, but no Bluetooth option fitted from the factory. Manufacturers have been doing it for years.

<joke> No, because he's got a manual gearbox! </joke>

That would be funny though 🤣.

"But you have this already?"

I cannot find the part in the book where it says lane assist does not work unless you have ACC

They are separate systems sold within a package if not fitted as standard.

Are you saying that your car does not give a nudge of the steering wheel if you try to change lanes without indicating?

I thought there were two versions of Lane Assist?

Lane Assist and Adaptive Lane Guidance, one being more or less standard on all Kodiaq’s, the other requiring / utilising the ACC cost option?

More help on how to use this would be appreciated. Didn’t work on the M1.

nothing happens when I press it and noting in the assists menus

Have spent a bit of time reading the brochure

It appears that the SE does not have Lane assist

So why the button is there i have no idea other than the suggestion that the same steering wheel is fitted whatever model is produced.

Are you sure it's a 'lane assist' button...?

If it's the top-right button on the right hand side, then that's for Travel Assist (combination of ACC and Lane Assist).
