Hi guys , I'm having problems updating my sat nav on my 2019 kodiaq edition , I've downloaded the correct file , unzipped them to my 64gb sd card and usb memory stick but when I try to update I get a warning saying no files found ... I have 2 sd slots but both are empty , I have no skoda sd card in either , so not sure if my maps are kept on an internal hard drive ... any help would be great .. TIA ...

How were the maps fed to car before you started the update?

Was there an SD card in either slot to start with?

hi , I bought the car in February 23 , there is no sd card fitted to either slot , when I try to investigate I come up with you licence has expired,  plus the paid extras like connect don't work as elapsed... strange as I thought I would have these for at least a year . do I need to put these 3 files into a folder onto the card or USB drive . looked online and the skoda guy seems to put them into a file on his card named maps .... I can add pics soon off the message I get on my car screen during the update process   .. thanks for reply Tom..

Have you changed the memory stick, or reformat anything.

The older maps contain a file that must be retained or copied back over, it is like a security key, without it, it wont work.  Before you overwrite anything save this file onto another device so you can copy it back.  From memory the key file is called something like overall.NDS

USB (or SD card) should be formatted to FAT32 (or exFAT).

All 3 files sould be located in the root of the memory device (no folders).

You have 2019 Kodiaq with MIB2,5.

What you are trying to download is for MIB3, newer headunit.

The files you need are:

hi , I've gone on the portal imputted my vin and that's the only file to download ... do you have a link at all to the correct one at all ? ...

Link seems to be correct.

Should be:

https://updateportal.skoda-auto.com/en-US/Updates/yourcarsvinnumberhere

I recall some 2019 had MIB 3 units, so might be correct.

Usually the procedure is like this - you first dowload the zip file. Then extract the file, it extracts into the folder with the same name as zip file is.

Then copy all the files from that folder to the root of the USB/SD. Dhould work, as long the memory thing is formatted to FAT32.

thankyou .... so when I extract ... I should use the ' extract here ' instead of extract to the chosen usb stick ... and the drive should be FAT32 and not Exfat ? Tom

Extract for example to downloads or "to here".

And from there copy contents to USB.

I think exFAT should work, but just in case format it to FAT32.

The OP will struggle to format his 64GB card using FAT32.

NTFS works just fine - ignore anyone who says it doesn't.

NTFS used to work fine, until some update this year. I tried to install 2023/2024 maps, week 22 with NTFS formatted USB stick, like I had done it times before. Did not work, headunit couldn`t recognie the flash drive. The same drive I always used to update maps. Only after formatting it to FAT32 could install maps.

No problems formating 64GB to FAT32 with FAT32 formatter, guiformat_64gb or HPUSBDisk.

I recently updated maps from 2023/4 to 2024 - no problem using a 64GB NTFS card, and I'm on (what I think is) the latest firmware (MH12-ER_SKG13_P4526).

Head unit updated in october to latest sofware when car went in for a service  and maps updated via sandisc card formatted to NTFS last week with no issues so I have to agree

MIB 3 is different than MIB 2. I don`t have to insert any codes on headunit.

There are 2 packages you can purchase. At leat for MIB 2. Maps and online services. I do not use maps, but I keep then updating, just in case. Using Android Auto and Waze.

Online srvices - I sometimes use the remote locking of the car. And sometimes I check my daily runs.

So basically no need for them, but I still keep paying for them. Was smth 70 euros per year without taxes, not a big loss.

About code insert do not know, you have newer headunit.

I use AA wirelessly, using AAWireless dongle.
