Music on SD card playing in random order

Featured Replies

Hi All,
I have a Superb mk3 (2019 facelift). There is 2 SD card slots in glovebox. In one of them, I've put an SD card with MP3 music on it.
I've copied the music from my laptop and can see the folders and MP3's in the order they should be in (file/folder Name order).
When I select Media in the car, the folders are not in same order, also the music being played appears to be in some random order. Also, I can see folders which I've not copied onto SD.

I've made the folders and filenames alphabetical, so they play in the order I want. However, the folders appear in a strange order.

Anyone know how I can view the folders and music in the car, in the same order that I see on laptop?

Many Thanks in advance.

I think the answer  may be

On your computer you can name folders and right click and change details on screen , your computer then shows them on screen.

The car may read the details in the "properties" of the files so if they are different that is probably the difference you are seeing on the  car screen.

Thanks Stonekeeper - I'll have a look at the properties of folders and filenames and make they are set correctly. This may take a little while, so I'll try just a small number of folders first then report back. Thanks for your reply.

Jakk.

MP3 files have metadata and the player reads that and not neccesarily the filename etc.

Check the properties/details on the music files on the computer.
