vibrations getting worse - 106,000km

Featured Replies

One problem (that I'm aware off) that I still have is that when I brake, the car "vibrates" a lot.

It even  does it when cruise control is ON and the car slows down by itself.

I don't think it's the brake pads and rotors as I already told it to the dealer when the car was 60000 km and after they changed  both it was still doing it.

Car is now 106000km and I had the feeling it was worse.

FWIW, I don't bake hard and/or much, mainly do highway trips, go with the flow and use engine brake whenever it's possible.

Anyone has the same issue?

Edit: sorry I see that it's not the right topic to talk about that.

I had something like that, together with brake assist and hill climb assist errors. On top of that on a few occasions while maneuvering, car was stopping very abruptly and was wobbling after the stop. My suspicion was something was wrong with ABS sensors. However, in workshop they found nothing and issue was gone by itself. So go figure what was that. Maybe indeed that was an ABS sensor and it was just dirty, so issue resolved after a few washes...

Things to check if not already done so…

tyres - might be a delaminating/damage on inside edge

wheel balance - might of lost a small weight

alignment - I hit a rock and Bent my rear axle, only I didn’t know I had bent it. Got vibrations in left hand corners, got better in right handlers though.

less likely, might be worth a look… missing cv boots, broken spring, anything that moves ;)

I split the topic so it can stand on its own. HTH

Have they replaced both pads and rotors, and both front and back? If so, was the vibration there immidiately after replcement, or was it back after some time?
