Just recently purchased a 2019 Superb! So happy with it after upgrading from a Polo so very different. It's a diesel and after reading a lot of forums I've seen that the DPF can cause issues and can cost a lot to fix. I've found an iPhone app and look to get the Vgate Pro 4.0 to plug in as a bluetooth OBD and connect it it to the DPF monitor app. Just a question about the Vgate. Will I need to unplug it every time I switch the engine off to avoid any battery issues? I keep finding conflicting ideas ahah.

 

Any advice will be much appreciated.

sometimes my OBDEleven Gen1 has been left connected for months long

maximum days when car was standstill were ~ 4 ~

 

Our VAG dealers provide an OBD dongle to monitor your car and provide additional functions like sending diagnostics to the dealer, find my car, journey statistics etc

 

It's always plugged in & doesn't seem to cause any problems with the battery.

I have an OBD thingy connected 24h/7 since I bought the car in 2018. Never put it out as I like to control the DPF regens with an app when they start and I'm about to leave the car (the car seems to know when I'm going to stop to begin DPF regens lol!). Never had an issue with the battery, I replaced it last year but it was 5 years old.
