Superb - Bluetooth Issues

Featured Replies

Hi all,

Recently taken delivery of a '73 Skoda Superb Estate SE L and whilst first impressions of the car itself are great, the hands-free/bluetooth connectivity has quickly become a pain point. The phone in question is an Android Google Pixel 6 and I have been using the same phone for the last 3 years in a Cupra Ateca which had always worked flawlessly. The phone is also used with various bluetooth devices (smart watch, headphones etc) day in, day out so I know there are no issues from the phones connectivity.

The phone connects initially very well, but then proceeds to disconnect from the Hands-free system every 2-3 minutes. At it's worst, it disconnected and dropped a call 4 times in a 7 minute journey.

Having spoken to a Skoda dealership, they've said there are no further OTA updates for the infotainment system so in effect, no point in me booking the car in with them as they will simply just send it back with no faults found.

Has anyone experienced the same issue and managed to resolve it?

TIA

Congrats on the new Superb! Have you tried using the wired connection and does it work better like that? Do you have your Wi-Fi on all the time too?

Thanks!

I did try the wired connection yesterday but it doesn't override the bluetooth profile so I need to delete the connection and try again. I do leave Wi-Fi switched on all the time but then I have done with every device and phone combination before the Superb and never had an issue before...

Indeed, looks like you’ve got it all sorted on your end. Tell us what happens when you plug it in, please.

Anecdotally, Android units seem to be more troublesome than iOS across the board.

Actually, my MiB 2.5 Amundsen works well with my wife’s Xiaomi and wired AA. My iPhone however fails to connect via CarPlay. Units does not support wireless AA/CarPlay. I only use it via BT for music and calls. All software and maps are latest versions available.

Have the same issue, when i make a call from car it works fine, getting sound from car speakers, however if an incomming call answer on car but No sound, have to keep apologising to caller while fumbling to put phone on speaker mode. Galaxy S21 ultra and a Huwawie GT3 pro watch. Incidentalyy if you reboot the phone all works as it should but surely cant be doing this every time I get into car. MIB 2.5 Columbus, car is 2017 and it used to work fine untl recent.
