16" wheels

Recommended Posts

I'm aware this topic has been popular in the past, so please excuse me for giving it another airing.

I can't find wheels i like to suit my facelift 63 plate Superb Elegance.

My search is for 7J x 16 ET45 five spoke design. (i think this is the correct spec')

The MK3 wheels are good but are outside of the spec'

So, please tell me if i have to look outside of Skoda product ?

I've seen these but unsure of compatibility.

Thank you in advance for your comments.

7.5Jx16 ET45 5/112 66.6 is an Audi A4 2007-2015 (gen. B8) rim which normally uses a 225/55R16 tyre size.

The Superb MK2's 205/55R16 tyre size will be very stretched on a 7.5J rim.

As you can see in the ETRTO chart below, a 205/55R16 can be fitted to a rim width between 5.5" and 7.5", so 7.5" is quite wide for this tyre size and will stretch the sidewalls giving a harder ride and leaving the rim very prone to kerbing damage.

The "standard" 7J x 16 ET45  wheel for the Superb mkII was the Spectrum. I'm not sure another 16" rim was available as original fit. I think there was a much larger choice of 17" rims.  Saying that I love my 16" 205/55/16 tyres - the ride is sublime.

Hi again,

I'm still struggling to find the Spectrum 7 hole 16" alloy wheels.

Seems i would have to buy a set from four different sellers, with the uncertainty of state of refurb / colour match.

May i ask for your expert advice please ?

Audi made a lovely 5 spoke wheel for the A6, namely C5 8D0601025C   16" x ET45 x 7J which i think were mated to 205/55/16 tyres.

Ebay have a set and my question is whether the bolt pattern and fitment will be compatible.

Hope i can move on soon and dump the 18's, because this week i've buckled one and one other has a bulge on the sidewall. Damn potholes !

8D0601025C is the same OEM part number as 8D0601025C Z17.

Z17 is simply the associated three digit colour code, ie. Avus silver.

7Jx16 ET45 5/112 57.1 is one of the Skoda approved rim specifications for the Superb MK2.

Thank you very much for your help Carlston, happy days !

If you need new centre caps for the alloy rims, you should be able to order them from any VAG parts department. They should fit those Audi rims, because they also use a 57.1mm hub centre bore.

Skoda alloy rim centre cap 6U0601151L MHB (149CZK is about £5 each)

Spare wheel center

I'm very grateful for your advice and I'm excited to enjoy the wheels too.
