Locking issues and windows rolling on its own.

Featured Replies

Hey.

Odd one. 2012 octavia tsi estate. Alarm seems to have issues. They come and go. So once unlock car it keeps trying to unlock itself and rolls all windows down. Its not every time, sometimes it does it, sometimes dont. Some times you unlock it and it flashes/trying to unlock itself once, sometimes few times, but windows rolls down anyway if it feels like it. checked remote to make sure its not sticky button but even if I press once and then remove battery from remote, it caries on doing it. Any idea?

Thanks.

Good morning @Aumeisters - I recommend a trawl through sections mentioning broken wiring in the flexible connections to the doors - probably drivers side as it gets more use.

Have you checked inside the 'bellows' section between door pillar and door?

Yep, pulled rubber boot out of way and checked all section which bends when doors gets opened/closed

Funny things like this have been known to happen with water ingress/damp conditions. Make sure you also use the air conditioner in conjunction with the heater on wet days. If you have climatronics then Auto will do the same thing.

Another possibility is a faulty door unlock/lock switch - the one in the centre panel in front of the gear lever. It works the same way as your key even to the extent of being able to use it to roll all the windows up and down by holding the switch in lock for up and unlock for down.

Coolios, will check switch. Might need to go garage and ask them to check if there is any codes coming up, as it might help as well.
