Superb Sportline TDI with high mileage & DSG --- Go or No go ?

Recommended Posts

Hi all, looking for quick advise about whether to purchase or avoid a DSG dry clutch sportline superb with 150k mileage. Previous owner saying all services were done including the DSG, timing belt etc. but i am reading mixed messages about the gearbox and clutch... Any advise will be highly appreciated?

I know Skoda are quite reliable cars and I do keep maintaining my skoda very well. The trade off for the high mileage is i ll be able to get it at low price but i dont want to end up with failed gearbox later and regret it...

Owner said it is a dry clutch which i assume comes with the 7 gear DSG ...

Is it a 15 or 190 diesel. I’m pretty sure those gearboxes were the DQ250 wet clutch. Should have had oil changes every 40k miles. 2wd or 4wd ?

Thanks. It is 150 bhp and 2wd. The owner recons it is dry clutch but he could be wrong. How can i check?

Wet clutch is more reliable no?

And if it s dry is it a no go do u recon?

A 1.6 TDI can have a DQ200 7 Speed twin dry clutch DSG.      A 2.0 TSI or TDI does not have a Dry Clutch DSG.

(There are 2,0 TDI 115 PS engines that have them.  Not used in a Superb though are they.)

6speed 150 diesel in superb will be wet clutch DQ250. Pretty reliable. I ran one with 230hp 500nm for 110k miles no issue on a 4wd estate
