Karoq useless Satnav

Featured Replies

My Satnav refuses to display the name of the places (towns/villages) that I pass through on my route.  Instead, it displays the name of a random side road (eg Church Street or Station Road), which means absolutely nothing !   Is there a fix that will show conventional place names ?  My Skoda dealer couldn't suggest anything when I took it in, apart from reducing the scale to show a whole county, when a few random place names would appear (but useless at that scale for navigating, while driving).

We’ve the 2020 Sportline and must confess that I’d not noticed that problem. Will bear it in mind next time we use the satnav and report back.

The only issue I really had was the system didn’t like postcodes insofar as it pinpointed the centre of that postcode. On the advice of members on here the work-around is to type in road names as the destination and that’s always worked.

Your satnav is a navigation device, it's not there to display everything you want or may find on a map.  Provided it gets you to your destination it's doing what it's meant to do.

I think that @Busman104 would like the pratnav to display "now approaching Anytown" rather than waiting until you arrive there and then display "now approaching School Lane" without mentioning Anytown.

Well hopefully the road signs told him that...

I recommend WAze, and stop using the inbuilt satnav.

It would appear @Busman104 that you are now having to pay for updates but put up with a less than optimal satnav performance.
