1.0 TSI SE TECHNOLOGY Engine vibration on idle

Recommended Posts

I'm purchasing a 2019 1.0 TSI Estate and noticed on a test drive that there was some vibration in the cabin when the engine was idling. This was not that bad but enough to notice. I asked the dealer and he said that was normal for the a 3-cylinder engine to do this. No vibration once I was driving the car and it drove smoothly.

I suppose it might get a bit annoying if I was stuck in traffic for a long time. It still vibrated at idling after the test drive (10mins).

Any advice anyone please?

I’ve got the 1.5 TSI and mines vibrates at idle. Its always had a bit of a noisy rough idle since I bought it at 9k miles. My mechanic says it’s due to emission control and the direct injection.

I’d try another one to compare though.

Welcome.

3 Cylinder TSI,s with a GPF can be like 4 Cylinders but lets concentrate on the 3 Cylinder.

Like with the 1.2 TSI,s the Skoda Employees can be told to tell customers any old crap and that things are normal & some are.

The engine might start and have a higher RPM and drop in 40 seconds or so.

But has this 2019 3 cylinder 1.0 TSI had new spark plugs at 4 years / 40,000 miles might be important.  Ask them, see if they say too low a mileage.

This was the guff they were told to tell owners of 1.2 TSI with cold start issues. Pre GPF,s.  But they have a Catalytic converter.

If there is a FMDSH / Full Main Dealer Service History, ask is that serviced to the Recommendations, Guidelines, Specifications or Schedule.

Brake fluid changed, Pollen filter twice, spark plugs, & has the Air Filter even been looked at to see if it needs replaced.

Thanks for the comments. It was a company car and has a full service history (don't think it was Skoda main dealer). I briefly looked at the service history and did see the spark plugs had been changed. It's done 73,246 milesI can ask them to send me a copy of the service history to check all the things have been done.

Thanks again
