Octavia mk4 RS downpipe

Featured Replies

So i already have Milltek GPF back non resonated exhaust installed, but now thinking about ordering downpipe aswell. Has anyone installed one, does it need remap afterwards, because some check engine lights may occur? If check engine light comes up after installing downpipe, is it possible to drive with the car to workshop to remap the car?

And whats the difference between sports cat and race cat?

When remapping, how much increase in peformance may intake and turbo muffler delete may give?

original vs milltek gpf back difference :

I was told by my mechanic that even if the engine light comes on (because of opf delete), it's totally fine to drive the car.

Sport cat vs race cat. Race cat is less restrictive than sport cat.

Air intake + muffler delete + downpipe with OPF delete + complete exhaust, all these mods are stage 2 ready, which can give you between 350 and 380 KM. Depends on the tune and other factors. Of course for Stage 2 remap, a bigger intercooler is strongly recommended. Also oil change every 7500 to 10000 km is highly recommended.

Okei, thanks, but what about the technical inspection and co? does the co stays within limits both with race cat and sports cat?

I was told that the car should pass the inspection even without the OPF. At least here in Slovenia. I don't know how strict is the inspection in Estonia.

Sprot cat should be fine. Race cat I doubt it.

With the race one you do not have catalytic converter, with that one you will not pass CO test. With the sport one you have a 200 cpsi catalytic converter, with that one you would be able to pass CO test, but not sure if in your country will allow you to run with it installed. In Spain, for example, you are allowed if you tech specs sheet is updated accordingly and you are within CO thresholds.

For both cases ECU tune is mandatory.
