So the yeti is now a second car and doesn't get huge mileage. 3000 a year or so and nothing much over 10 mile trips. 

 

Battery has gone flat over the weekend. Dug out the multimeter and it's at 7v or so. 

 

Is it worth getting a battery charger or should I just bite the bullet and get a new battery ?

 

It's a 2012 and I think we've had it since 2016 or so.

I'd bite two bullets.

1) New battery

2) C-tek trickle charger to refresh every 3 or 4 months.

 

My old Subaru is still on the same battery after 11 years as a result and it's not used much.

Couldn't put it better myself. Splash out on a decent battery conditioner like C-Tek and you'll save money in the long run - not just on the car.

From years on this forum - new battery was the way to go. Over the years people have reported lots of strange problems which were resolved when a new battery went in. And this way you know the battery isn't going to let you down at an inconvenient time and place.
