hi all,

having an issue with my 08 Octavia estate tailgate.. once opened and lifted it wont stay open.. thinking the struts need changed.. anyone had this issue before?

Probably 90% or more owners of the MK2, the youngest versions being close to 10 years old now, the oldest 20 years.

Yep had this o our as noted above.  Two new struts sorted it (although it was a bugger to close for a while afterwards...

 

It's a five minute job to replace them.

Good though, as others.

Available on eBay very cheap for a pair. I have done the hatch version. They were mega strong compared to the old ones. Key is to measure the old I believe.
