OBD2 socket in Fabia mk4

Featured Replies

I have searched on this site as well as you tube and google, but unfortunately can’t find the location for OBD2 socket in my Fabia mk4, 2022 model. I have located the inside fuses  by removing little storage box on right side of steering column, but can’t see or feel the OBD2 socket anywhere.

Can someone please help me find it and preferably with a picture to show where the OBD2 socket is.

Thanks in advance to anyone who can help.

Thanks for the link but the car shown in video is not Mk4, it’s an older Fabia. I have looked in all the obvious places but no success.

I'ld be surprised if it wasnt in the same place (or very close).

I thought so as well because I’ve used older Fabia and Citigo which are fairly easy to find and use, but Mk4 is totally different layout. Only thing I can do is remove some plastic covers underneath fascia.

I appreciate your help and thanks again.

Isn't it in the compartment under the armrest between the front seats?

The relevant Fabia on-line Owner's Manual will show where the USB sockets are positioned. (Where they are located and how many there are will depend on a Fabia's specification.) Similar guidance is in my car's hardcopy manual, referenced by "USB" in the index.

My own car has the standard 'fit', comprising a pair of USB-C sockets positioned just beneath the air-conditioning controls and directly above where a mobile-phone charging pad would be. (My car does not have a pad).

The following two images show the position of these sockets and what they look like.

The images below show where supplementary USB sockets may be. (My Fabia does not have these USB sockets.)

OBD, not USB, but owners manual might be worth a look. "Diagnostic socket" would probably be its description.

Thanks BP, I’ve already done that, I don’t think VW group want simple Simon to poke into their very precious (expensive) software 🤪

Oh Dear - senility is more advanced than I thought...

On my right-hand-drive Fabia Mk4, the OBD port is directly below the FRONT of the little dashboard storage-box on the driver's side of the cabin..

These photos from below should make the port's location clear

(Incidentally, no help in the Owner's Manual about this.)

Well guys, I have spent around 30 minutes looking and taking photos but still can’t see ****dy OBD2 socket. I can see the fuses behind little storage box on right side of steering, common sense tells me it should be somewhere near the fuses which connect most of electrical stuff, but frustratingly no sign of it.

Sorry the photo exceeds 1.85mb so can’t attach it

Well ... I haven't actually looked as that would mean crouching down and aggravating my arthritis but, after reading the previous post, I did this and could FEEL the socket (or what felt like it).

Put my hand on that right hand wee cupboard, slid my hand right down as far as it goes then feel underneath.

There is a gap where I could feel some sort of insulation then slightly to the right what does feel like a multi-pin socket.

So, in effect, that photo supplied of the socket would be taken from the point of the drivers right knee looking up across the surface of the cubby door with its handle being what you can see at the top.

Try it?

Smartphone with front camera selected may be quite handy for looking up at stuff?

On my car, the OBD socket would NOT be visible if, after the little storage box on the driver's side had been removed, one looked through the resultant opening.

In my car's case, the OBD socket is UNDER the fuse-box and (as my photos should make obvious) the colour of the socket and its position makes it easily identifiable when looking upwards from beneath the dashboard directly below the lower edge of the storage box.

This enquiry provides slightly different advice.

It's POSSSIBLE (I suppose) that there should be a cover over my car's OBD port, or that earlier Fabia MK 4s have a slightly different arrangement. But, logically, the location of the OBD port on my car makes perfect sense, being close to the fuse-box and immediately accessible without any faffing about.

(I used an iPhone in 'selfie mode' to take photos upwards from beneath the dashboard. And, if a forum has maximum file-size restrictions for attachments, there are plenty of applications available to reduce large files to an acceptable limit.)

Mine is on the edge of the dash panel just below the fuse box Mk.4 2024 reg.
