Pointless Auto Luggage Cover........

Featured Replies

Since my prolonged visit at the dealer and subsequent new battery all my setting are messed up - one that I didn't know about previously is the automatic luggage cover retraction device - I assumed something was amiss when every time I opened the rear hatch the roller blind cover shot forward.

I now find it's electrically released - how pointless is that?

Whilst it can be disabled in the menu I'd much rather have had Skoda fit some low down luggage area lighting as the 2 lamps on the door are also somewhat pointless.

Hi,

Surprising...

I've change my battery on my own, and this setup didn't disappear...

Your dealer should be able to fix it quickly (if he knows what he does).

The OP knows how to disable it (now)from the menu I think rather the point was it didn't do it previously. My implied presumption is that a PO had disabled it before the OP purchased the car and until now he |she wasn't aware that there was such a thing.

Well that's how I read the OPs post anyways :)

The A6 was much better, it slowly retracted with the boot and then extended as the boot closed.

Seems quite sensible but if what you are saying is that it does not deploy again when you close the boot and you have to manually retract it then I understand your frustration.

Thinking about it, it could not automatically deploy in case you had just loaded a tall item, I wonder if the Audi one described had obstruction detection like a roller door?
