Stock airbox

Featured Replies

are there any advantages in removing the pipe that comes out of the airbox and goes into the inner wing.i know it will make the induction louder but will it do anything else.

i have had cars in the past that it has made a noticable difference to but have never owned a turbo before so am not touching anything until i know it helps:D

i am guessing that it wont help performance or i would have read about it;)

Removing it will help draw warm air into the engine which, is the last thing you want (especially on a turbo car). Leave it where it is.

You could smooth the inside of the airbox. In fact I believe there is one for sale on here that has already had the work done.

i have heard this argument before but how much airflow can you get in the wing and besides the pipe is on the opposite side of the box to the engine so not drawing hot air directly off of the engine.

Yes, but when you are sat in traffic hot air will be building up under the bonnet, which your engine will be breating and then in turn getting even hotter.

If you want to do something change the filters more often/get a replacement one, smooth the airbox should you desire and possibly replace any non smooth pipes with smooth ones.
