2007 Octavia L&K Estate 

 

I can't open the read nearside door and the window also seems to have stopped working at the same time. All other doors and windows work fine.

 

Any ideas? Since it's the door and the window, is it likely to be pinched wiring ? Really frustrating esperance I can't even get the door open to take a look.

So the door magically unlocked itself, but it now doesn't lock and the window still doesn't work.

Are there any quick and easy tests I can make to diagnose what the issue might be?

Disconnect the battery for  while, I have known the software in the Golf 5 type convenience unit to crash and shut down the left side completely or just the rear door which is controlled by LIN BUS from the front door controller which is CAN BUS controlled from the convenience unit.
