Long list of fault codes detected

Featured Replies

Hi All,

Not had a great start with my MK3 1.4 TSI DSG estate (65 plate). Acquired mid April and is due to return to the garage for a second time. OBDEleven is currently showing the following shopping list of faults:

Current symptoms, oddly enough, is that it ISN'T in limp mode despite the active fault codes. I inherited these codes from a standing start in traffic, I gave it a little bit of hard throttle and didn't seem to like it (Engine was warm, ran approx 30 mins up until this point). Engine stop start does not function at the moment. Anyone had anything similar?

Check the battery is correctly coded into the car; If that's wrong it could explain all you reported codeds.

Thanks for the reply, how do I check that this is done correctly and what am i checking against?

Also strongly suggest that you get the battery tested.

Thanks, will check that out tomorrow. What are the normal parameters of engine off voltage vs engine/alternator running voltage? It's my first time with start/stop batteries

Resting voltage (after all vehicle modules have gone to sleep) should be minimum 12.2 to 12.5 volts unloaded, but you really need to test with a proper battery tester and with the battery at full charge - or with a multimeter while the engine is being cranked-over, where the terminal voltage should not drop lower than a minimum of 10 to 11 volts.

You should note that normal battery State of Charge (SOC) will usually be only approx. 75% due to the way the smart alternator operates to allow recuperative battery charging.

Brilliant, Thanks for info. I'm hoping it is something as simple as this! 🙏
