Please excuse me getting used to the forum, just registered, as I've just recently joined the world of Skoda owners.

 

Sadly didn't have the best of start to the Skoda world.
 

Went for a 4 hour round trip 3 weeks ago, purchasing a 2014 Octavia Elegance Estate 1.6L Engine, 5 speed, pristine cosmetic condition, in lovely racing blue. Fabulous looking car!! 😃
The mechanical state of the car was great too on first inspection, but swiftly turned out the opposite.
With a major strange coolant loss fault, plus sold to me with MOT failure of steering end ball joints & anti-roll bar joint (after inspection of our trustworthy local garage), the whole experience went sour very quickly.

Thankfully, I took up the use of the 30 day no quibble law, returned the car, and got my full refund. 🙂

 

On a more positive note, I've just yesterday purchased a 2015 Octavia CR SE Business Estate, with the much better and reliable 2.0L engine, and 6 speed gearbox. This being from our local more trusting garage.
Fingers crossed for second time lucky 🤞🤞🤞🤞

 

In regards to this 2015 Octavia CR SE Business Estate, if anybody has any comments / warnings / praises, I would be very grateful to hear from you.

Hello, thanks to god you got rid of the 1.6.

@Blue8793841 ABSOLUTELY!!   I had done fair bit of research before buying the car, but just a shame I didn't know all the mountains of problems the 1.6 can produce, that I know now!

 

Hindsight is a bummer hey! 🤦‍♂️
