Engine sound at idle

Featured Replies

Hi,  please pardon my ignorance. Just need some input.  I have my engine on, cold start, octavia 2.0 tsi. Is it sounding normal to you. I'm concerned of the ticking noise. I probably should have reved it as well to hear how it sounds. I can retake another video https://photos.google.com/share/AF1QipN48Xv8DUkaZwvfFgv31W30yJP3TaizZDREUuoPhc2NYM0hyF7w1aN8iXHBVtsrBg?key=dlg1VDF2enAtMUtDT0RNY0N4eHhHUFlpQVhOa0hn. I tried to share a link via google photos hopefully it worked. Please let me know.

Hi,

Nothing shows on your link. I would suggest uploading the video to Youtube.

Are you talking about the noise when the RPMs are dropping to the normal idel RPMs? You can hear it in my video below

Hi I don't even know what happened there I thought by just sharing the link I would work. I clicked on I myself and there was nothing there. I should have seen this earlier, no wonder no one had not commented I had forgotten to upload the video. Can you check if it's there now

It is there now.

I would says the engine runs pretty normal. As far as I know (I'm not a mechanic though) all direct injection engines are quite loud. That tapping sound are injectors doing what they supposed to do. :)

Awesome thank you for your response. I just wasn't too sure. Its still a young engine so I shouldn't worry too much. I think you are correct 😊
