Engine mount bolts

Featured Replies

Hi all,

What are the part numbers for the bolts that go into the right hand side (under expansion bottle) engine? The mount they go through is part number 04L 199 207 into the engine. I can’t seem to find anyone selling them as a kit?

Thanks

Wow, didn’t know this existed, will take a look. Thanks @Breezy_Pete

I would try and get OEM if you can. I've seen some poor quality bolts on eBay. Buyer beware.

You can also get genuine oem bolts on ebay.

I did see some on eBay. £22.98 for a set of 3 bolts! Rip

On that note, have people had any experience with taking those bolts out of the engine if they’ve sheared? I.e. half of bolt thread in the mount, spinning freely, and the other half in the engine.

Took plenty out while doing timing belts. Never had a problem reusing the old ones.

Did you find yourself with lots of room to take out the sheared bolt out of the engine while it’s still in the bay or did you have to take out the engine?

Also another question, what’s the torque spec for those bolts? Preferably in Nm.

I’ve seen 34ft/lbs then 90 degrees but I might be wrong.

Bolts in the engine. I.e. in the threads where it should go into.

If you remove the lower torsion mount on the gearbox and the upper half of the engine mount you can jack up the engine to get better access to the bolt.

Would I have to undo all the cables and hoses at the back of the engine bay?

Might be worth taking out the bolts for downpipe mounting to remove any stress from the Flexi. Just don't go too mad and keep an eye on the pipes/hoses on top.

When replacing engine mount, which is a 3 piece set, do I need to replace the 2 rubber bushing/ dogframe submount?
