Superb iV 2021 - Infotainment Update

Featured Replies

Hi there,

I just received my used Superb Combi iV and was wondering if I can update the infotainment. Currently I do have the MOI3_EU_SKMQB_P27000P version. I already know, that I need to update to the 308 first and then to the 324. But in one Kamiq thread I read that I need to update the OCU first. So I scanned my car with VCDS and found out, that mine is also running on a really old version: 0035.

Do I need to update the OCU or can I just update the Infotainment? I can't find the TPIs for my Superb so I'm not sure if it is necessary.

Thanks a lot for your help,

Mathias

Hi again,

I successfully updated from 270 to 308 to 324. Navigation is working and system feels faster and more stable. The OCU is still on version 35. Do I need to update it and can the update be done via usb?

Thanks,
Mathias

Hello,

can you please share a tutorial of how to update it? Thanks!

Sure:

  1. Check what mib version you have by pressing the menu button for 5 seconds and opening the engineering menu
  2. Enter the current version at https://mib-helper.com/ (in my case MOI3_EU_SKMQB_P27000P) to see which version is the newest
  3. Download necessary updates from https://mibsolution.one/#/1/9/MOI3/Preh (in my case MOI3_EU_SKMQB_P30800P_0308 and MOI3_EU_SKMQB_P32400P_0324
  4. Format a usb stick to fat32 and extract the update the usb stick (Preferably on windows)
  5. Insert the usb stick into a usb-c port (with an usb-c to usb-a adapter)
  6. Reenter the engineering menu und select Update
  7. Select the usb drive and start the update

It's advisable to connect the car to a battery charger when doing the update. In my case I just plugged the iV charging cable into a power outlet and the car and left the driverside door open (don't know if that's necessary).

Afterwards you need to get rid of the 1555 error in 5F via VCDS. There are plenty of explanations on how to do that.

thanks!

Just a couple of notes:

You can use a USB-A drive in the USB socket in the armrest, or the USB-C in the centre console for updates.

Single updates take about 20 minutes, so if you are only doing 1 at a time, you don't need to charge the 12v battery.

You can update the OCU software the same way you update the MIB3 software - unzip to the root of the USB drive, then use the engineering menu.

If your current MIB3 software is less that 270, you will need to have the SWaP code activated for onboard Navigation.

I had my OCU replaced under Warranty.

The SOS system was red and producing an error all the time.
My Infotainment system was stuck loading profile when I tried to load anything other than the guest account. I contacted Skoda digital and the told me they had done something to the account - and to reset the system, then set the privace setting to maximum and then back to minimum.

This then caused the 'Loading User Profile' message to be stuck on all the time (rendering the infotainment system useless)

I'm pretty sure they deleted all the accounts (including the guest account) meaning there was nothing to load!

I think they could have fixed it by reloading the original programming using ODIS - but they said they would replace the unit - so better to have the new one.

New OCU put in and programmed, now I have logged in and I'm the primary user and everything is working (MySkoda app etc)

I activated a free month of infotainment updates and the maps have just updated to 25/1

Running 332

Maps have been updated over the air to 25/6

Thanks for the post with the direct link to the software updates, I couldn't find it on MIBsolutions myself (just have my Superb iV for two weeks and new to doing things myself as software updates).
If you do a software upgrade, connect the 12V battery to a charger, preferably one with power supply modus and a constant 12V to not drain the battery. Plugging in your iV (hybrid) system to a charger doesn't work, because the 12V battery doesn't charge then, only the high voltage battery is charged.

I also recently updated the OCU to 0143 and the MIB from 270 to 332 (gradually - 278-308-330-332). VCDS does not show any errors, but the zero emission item disappeared from the "range monitor" menu (similar to the one in the photo, I miss it). Has this happened to anyone else?

or ideas on how to get it back? I compared the current adaptations of the 5F unit with the statement after buying the car and I did not find any differences...

Yes - the Zero Emissions screen has gone for me as well

Has been mentioned elsewhere too - looks like its part of the update to one of the later softwares

Did you need a swap code or you did update no swap code

Ok that’s very very old software. 332 is the current (and possibly won’t be updated past that tbh) but it went (I think from what I’ve seen) 156 236 270 276 278 306 308 330 332.

The one you’ll absolutely need is 308 but you may need something before. The other thing is there’ll be FEC codes needed too. Tbh whilst you can do it, I’d say best to get it to a dealer, explain the situation and ask them so they do all the associated work to it as well.

Thank you . The dealrs in my country are dumbasses i will need to do it .

Best of luck 👍🏼

Let us know how you get on

I was just quoted £700 to do this update at the dealer...

So I'm planning on doing it myself now, looks like the latest official update is 332? Has anyone tried that?

I'm on version 270, and some posts I've seen around da webb claims going through 308-330-332 will work. Should i just skip 324?

And the VCDS- 1555 error in 5F, is there anything special for me to take into consideration here? I tried looking around and searching briskoda, but couldn't find anything about this? (maybe my search skills are not as good as I think...)

Should be just 308-332. Def skip 324, and I don't think you need 330, just that most the guys on here that updated to 332 were on 330. So definitely save yourself a bunch of money

for my Mib3 Amundsen this order was ok

0320 (factory 2023.01)

0324 (dealer 2024.01)

0330 (OTA 2024.03.18)

0332 (user 2025.11.24)

additionally, upgrade radio stations logo database, Mib3 fw contains outdated

Due to a buggy factory firmware 0270 (Black screens, audio dropouts and no navigation map updates), i received in 2021 an update to 0276 from the dealer for my S3iV MIB3-Amundsen (model year 2021) (still with the zero emission display). Afterwards, I updated myself via 0308 (removing the zero emission display) to 0324. So far, I haven't received any OTA firmware updates to 0330 or 0332. Connect services are paid, and navigation map updates are regularly delivered OTA, as are other "minor" updates. Last year, the factory firmware 0035 of the OCU had a software error. The dealer updated it to 0143. Luckily, this was still within the 5-year warranty period. However, none of the alleged OTA updates - Campaign 03A6 (OCU-FW 0306) or 03A9 (OCU-FW 0311) - have been received for the OCU either. I suspect that the two OCU campaigns are also intended to fix the 2/3G issue for the MIB3 devices.
