Soundaktor!

Featured Replies

I bought my vRS 245 around a month ago, and have noticed in normal/sport mode an incredibly annoying buzzing from the dash/windscreen/firewall when at anything above 1/3 throttle.

I know this seems to be a fairly common issue - any fixes? I've got OBD11 so can block it off permanently, but I don't mind the sound when it's not buzzing the car to pieces. Individual mode is good, however it does it in both normal and sport mode (worse in sport, obviously), and it would be a pain to have to change my individual settings each time I wanted to change driving profiles.

TIA!

Turning mine down to 30% cured the resonance I was getting.

Unplug it. You can just about reach the plug if you lift the plastic scuttle cover in the centre.

Ignore that. Misread, it. Didn't realise you like the sound.

I prefer driving in Sport mode so I've simply got into the habit of tapping the vrs button twice every time I get into the car. Simply tap it thrice 🙂

I wouldn’t say I LIKE the sound, but it’s a little better than an engine I can’t hear!

I seem to remember it sounding really good when I first got it, but it’s definitely gone downhill. I’ll see what the dealer can do tomorrow, however I think it’s the dash rattling rather than the speaker being loose

The brackets can shift which can cause the vibration youre hearing, not awfully hard to get to but depends if your wipers are seized on, like mine currently are!
