Set Time With VCDS

Featured Replies

Is it possible to set the time displayed on the maxidot with VCDS so the seconds are correct, so the time displayed is synced to a laptop which is synced to a time server.

I've had a quick look using search but nothing came up.

Thanks.

I'm not sure about the Mk2 - but IIRC the Mk3 has an option to source time from GPS signal.

IME you need a permanent source to your NTP server to do this.

do you really need it to be that accurate?

Just to update.

Whilst I can update the time with VCDS I can only do it in the same way as using the maxidot. Set the minute and wait until seconds hit 00 on the laptop and then click set/update. I would say using the laptop with VCDS is easier than the maxidot because the maxidot does time out the display if set is not clicked within 15 seconds or so.

@Warrior193  Not possible on the MKII without a seperate "time receiver" module fitted.

@Paws4Thot Ignore every thing I wrote after the comma in my first post. I just muddy the water after that.

@Winston_Woof I Don't know?😀 It's annoying for regular BBC Radio 4 listeners when they send out the time signal beep, beep, beeeep. Then I see how far the time is out.
